Dr. Dan Girardot, Associate Director of the Office of Worship of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, has over four decades of experience in liturgy, music, and spiritual formation. Dr. Dan holds a BMEd. (Choral/Voice) from U.T. Austin, an M.A. in Liturgical Studies from U. of Notre Dame, and a doctorate in ministry from The Catholic University of America, with post graduate studies in choral conducting at Westminster Choir College. As a director of children and youth choirs, he has over 35 years of experience with parish, diocesan, regional, and festival children’s choruses. He was founder and artistic director of the Summer Sacred Music and Arts Festival for children and youth for 28 years Austin, TX, bringing together a multicultural, intergenerational, and musically eclectic community of musicians that listed hearts and minds in God’s praise. He is an adjunct professor of music and liturgy for several Catholic colleges and seminary students and loves performing vocally and conducting major choral works with children and adults. Dr. Dan serves in leadership on the Board of Directors of the SWLC and on local and national committees of the NPM, including serving as the Region 13 representative to the NPM National Council. He is a choral conductor, national and regional choral and cantor clinician for adults and youth, cantor adjudicator and coach, retreat director, educator in liturgy and music for all ages, author, and a consultant for parishes and dioceses in liturgical ministry and spiritual formation. Dan strives to offer a voice of joy and hope, giving theological clarity, spiritual insight, and active musical praise to the ministry experience of music and liturgical ministers.
