8/22/22 - 44th Pueri Cantores International Congress of Rome Update

Dear Choir Directors and Music Teachers,

While summer is not officially over, we know many of you have already begun to turn your attention to fall choir rehearsals and events. The anticipation and excitement of a “new year” brings so much to look forward to, including the unprecedented number of 2023 Pueri Cantores Regional Festivals.

We are equally excited about the much anticipated 44th International Congress of Pueri Cantores to be held in Rome, Italy in December 2023. This life changing Pueri Cantores pilgrimage, held once every five years brings together children’s choirs from around the world for a weeklong celebration of sacred music, fellowship and fun! The highlight will be attendance and participation in a Papal Mass celebrated by the Holy Father on January 1, 2024 in St. Peter’s Basilica.

The current response from our American choirs has been tremendously gratifying! In 2015 (the last year of the International Congress) over 30 choirs traveled to the Eternal City, and currently two dozen choirs have committed for 2023-24.  

Please consider this as a personal invitation from the American Federation of Pueri Cantores to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The rewards for choir directors, choristers and their families are many, and we would be honored to share them with you.
